Democracy as freedom is as essential as freedom in a democracy which is run by a government, even though the government is of the people. Defining just what our government here in the United States does for us is not so simple as to say everything is out in the open for all to see and hear, which is part of the problem we have in our National Security right now, meaning some people do not know how to keep their mouths shut.

National security depends on the ability of those concerned to keep a secret, which begs the question of how does the press get much of the information they broadcast to the public?

No one likes secrets, especially if one is the brunt of the secret, though we need secrets in many instances, in government just as in a family setting. Not everyone wants to hear about all the dirty laundry, so to speak of what goes on behind the scenes, nor do they need to know, unless someone is the victim of harmful activity, which is why we have laws in a democracy, i.e. to justify what is legal, or not, though the policy written by the government needs to be much more stringent than family troubles, which again is why we can say we do have the freedom to make our own decisions, hopefully based on and of common sense.

Take for instance the security of the President of the United States, which is dependent on total secrecy of movement, time, and many other various issues that may or may not be involved in decisions that involve all of us in the States or World. Our survival depends on such secrets, as does the Presidents, whoever he or she may be.

Ignorance of the facts is a benefit, not a hindrance, in governmental secrecy, unless we have some total idiots in government, which today seems to be a factor in terms of whom or what party or power they are associated with. Situations involving stupidity need to be totally and irrevocably eradicated, meaning of course that for instance 9-11 could possibly have been nipped in the bud before it actually happened, though many argue over all the information passed and present, and most likely will for many years to come, however futile.

If your life depends on a secret, you will keep a secret, though this involves many various factors to the equation which equals the secret. Discipline, will power, common sense, decency, morality, sense of values, love are just a smidgen of what is needed along with many others pertaining to behavior of oneself in order to keep such a secret, which brings up some further problems in the arena of national or even self survival, at least in the sense of a secret.

It truly is nice to think, even believe that secrets are not necessary, which is perhaps what some think of as Socialism or Communism, Marxist or whatever liberal view one has of sharing information. History has given us a great view of some instances of governance, or actually the dictatorship of people, which is why the wall came down. We must never let the wall be rebuilt. In dictatorships secrets annihilate people, and corrupt even further the dictators along with their followers.

In other words there are some things we need to know, and some which we need to know nothing about in order to maintain freedom of the people, by the people under the structure of a democratic government which writes laws in order for justice to prevail. Without secrets we have nothing, as in no love or dreams.

Just for the sake of thought take the marriage of two people who truly love one another, she adores him and he adores her, they do not like to be apart. Love though does not only involve these two, in most cases it will involve six, being the two plus two sets of parents, so in the personal interactions of the married couple many other issues come up, like it or not. Secrets need to be kept in order to alleviate hurtful situations as feelings are easily hurt, especially when it comes to in-laws. Actually this is why it is not a good idea for a man to marry someone who reminds him of his mother, same for a woman and her father, yet many do just that, they seem to end up with the same type of person they were familiar with as children and young adults. There are exceptions to behavior though which we need to remain aware of.

If we are unable to repair what you have, most likely it is unrepairable as we are adept at most anything you may need in the way of what needs to be fixed, or fabricated from plans or a sketch or prototype. We are able to draw plans if needed.
